I was on a 3 day liveaboard dive trip in the Channel Islands last weekend and conditions were excellent. We spent a day and a half at San Miguel and the rest of the time at Santa Cruz and Anacapa. Here is shot I got in at Cathedral Cove on Santa Cruz of a Garabaldi guarding his nest of eggs (the reddish brown mass behind him). I sat still for a while so that he would let me get close. Periodically a Sheepshead would try to steal some of the eggs and our valiant guardian would chase him away. He chased me too, but I stood my ground. I just love his expression.
