Scenerio:

Your wetsuit is hanging up minding it's own bussiness, drying hopefully, when you, in a semi-conscious low-light situation, encounter said wetsuit and your non-awake brain thinks it's "something else" :11: and you may or may not shriek....familiar? ;)

I've heard of that happening with drysuits as well....mine lays on the floor, so I'm not likely to be attacked by it....

If I can make it down the steep basement stairs without breaking my neck, walk into the garage and bump into the the wetsuit I might think it is something else.

My wetsuit resides either in my shower, in the corner of my room, or hanging from the grate in the ceiling and my imagination is overly fertile to the point of being eutrophic. Fortunately I am not inclined to shriek ;)

for same effect i would have to leave house, disengage alarm system, unlock 2 deadlocks and a rollerdoor not to mention all the sensor lights... hmmm, note to self - dive gear has maybe too much security

Yes, but bullet holes and knife slashes in the neoprene can reduce it's insulating ability. Might want to look into just shrieking next time...

Pepper spray doesn't hurt neoprene though ;)

But if your wetsuit is hanging inside-out...........and you spray it with that stuff........... I'm thinking a rash or 'slight' irritation :11: would follow! Good thing this is hypothetical....... the above are trained professionals, do not try this at home! :D

No way I'd be awake enough to grope past the "intruder" (my suit) find the pepper spray and spray it. By then I'd be awake enough to realize I now needed to wash it again. Worst case scenerio: I have the phone near the bed and call 911 and make a donkey of myself and climb down the fire escape in my pj's before realizing who the "intruder" is ;)
