On Wednesday may 18 I did a 60ft dive on nitrox for 30 minutes. On the descent I blew my eardrum which was very disorientating and I had vertigo. I stayed down for about 25 minutes before deciding to end the dive and come to the surface. Upon reaching the surface I got very nauseous and felt sick to my stomach. The feeling went away after about 10 minutes. Later that day, about 6 hours later I got basically a quick sharp pain in my chest that quickly subsided. The next day I had a few more sharp pains and sometimes get a heaviness in my chest along with some stomach pain, although I think the stomach pain is do to my antinflamatorys for my ear. I have had it for about 4 days now and I don't know if it is just do to anxiety from blowing my ear or if the chest pain is a mild case of the bends. I have no other symptoms as far as joint pain.

I also want to add that I have no chest pain when I first wake up and that is why I think I am just over thinking and causing this pain for myself.

Call DAN and go see a doctor. Regardless of whether or not it's the bends, you should get actual medical advice, especially since you had a medical event underwater.

I went to MD Now and that's where I got the antibiotics. Do you mean a soecialist

Huh? You didn't mention that you had been to a doctor. If you are in any way concerned you need to call DAN, the Divers Alert Network, they have a hotline where they give medical advice and link divers up with doctors where there are diving-related medical events.

Call this number. Tell them your story. They will give you better advice than asking around on a forum.

I agree with calling DAN and talk to someone that knows what they are actually talking about.

If it was me, it probably wouldn't have crossed my mind as the profile, 60' for 30 min, is not close to NDL on air. An ascent rate over 60'/min might concern me, but it was not mentioned.

Let us know how the call with DAN goes.

So, to be clear, you were worked up for this chest pain?

Best regards,
