Hi, All!

About 20 years ago I joined this merry band of ocean aficionados, and never met a more delightful or more interesting crew. It looks like that tradition continues.

Anyhow, I thought I’d say “Hello,” renew a few acquaintances (Net Doc was just a Net Intern when we first met!), and enjoy a few threads—travel and gear were my passions in the old days. Now I just like to watch the sea life and keep my ancient gear in like-new condition.

Welcome back. Didn't SB start about 2000? King Neptune & Lady Diver, etc.? Were you one of the first to join?

Hi, TM!

Yep, I was amongst the first members. I think I was #60, but I’m not certain. We had some real characters in those days: IguanaDon, Mario Caner, Warhammer (Google the “Warhammer maneuver” someday.), TexasMike, got4boyz, Fishkiller, etc. I see that Ted, Rick, and Herman are still active—great sources of info and history.

We were all learning from each other back then. I was a big proponent of Cozumel—still consider it to be some of the best diving in North America. I also had a love affair with Sherwood regs!

But truth be told, you guys and gals have done a superb job of making the ScubaBoard a user friendly fount of information and advice.

And credit where credit is due: the Chairman (aka “NetDoc” to us old timers) has done a masterful job of appointing talented folks like you to help others.

The King and his Lady deserve kudos for starting this, but you folks have taken it numerous quantum levels higher than they probably ever imagined.

Thanks for the note...It’s good to be back!

Welcome back to Scubaboard. Looks like you may have some amazing photos to share with us at the very least. :)

Where in Canada?

My Dad was a Canuck from Winnipeg. He used to play hockey on the frozen Red River. However, my grandpa decided to abandon the family wheat farm, and come to California—hence my SoCal upbringing.

Of late, I tend to dive sans camera, and just enjoy the glorious view. But I’ll post a few photos from past dives.

Here’s a friendly Nurse Shark from Cozumel...

Thanks for the kind welcome...

Western Canada, close to the mountains but on their east flank. Nice nurse!

Hi, Again,

I dug deeply into my files and found the list of the first members of this Board. I had thought I was #60, but I was actually #22. Look carefully, and you’ll see some very familiar names. But there is one that you might NOT recognize: “NetDoc”. He now goes by the title of “The Chairman”!

It was truly a fun loving group, AND The Chairman has managed to maintain that atmosphere whilst expanding the site onto the very best place to explore scuba whether you’re a novice or a master diver.

So, without further ado:
