New registered member to SB, but i've been reading it for a while now. I want to say a great big "THANK YOU" to the awesome, supportive folks in this forum. On my first open water dive i was a panicked mess. The water was extremely cold and i was wrapped up in 14mm of neoprene... I considered dropping the whole idea until i read about other divers who panicked on their first dives but went on to become accomplished divers. Day 2 of my open water dive went much better, and i recently came back from an awesome diving trip in Barbados with "The Dive Shop". Dive Master Faheem was amazingly patient and helpful... thanks to him too!!! So i'm coming along, and quite hooked. :D

welcome aboard

:happywave and welcome to :sblogo:

thats the good thing about SB, theres always someone thats had a similar experience

cheers and happy diving

Glad to hear we helped!

One of the big things I think we, as a community, can do, is to let new divers know that not all of us took to diving like fish. I know, during my OW class, I despaired of "getting it". Knowing that passionate, active divers had had as many problems as I was having would have helped enormously.

I keep the link to the journal of my OW class in my sig line, because about once a month, I get a thank-you note from a new diver who took moral support from it. This is the kind of thing the big internet diving community is good for!
