Thanks to Diver Joe, Barb, DiveMermaid, and Friend of Diver Joe for coming out and being guinea pigs for the first Basic Techniques and Essential Skills class ever this weekend.

This is a course I have designed and these guys helped me to knock some of the rough edges off so that course number two may run smoother and a little more orderly... didn't we finish late?!

I particularly enjoyed diving with this team. We had fun. Only sorry that we only had two days!

Stay tuned

Thanks again Steve your your excellent instruction, patience and sense of humour... The course was so informative and so much fun that I would like to do it again. Doppler thinks - " Yes Joe, you Need To" Grin.

Oh, and so much for Dave's smooth sailing thru all the skills/requirements, you forgot his name!! How am I going to talk him into the Trimix class now?

I would highly recommend this Course to anyone who wishes to improve on their in-water skills such as Finning, Buoyancy/Trim and it is an excellent introduction into the concept of TEAM Diving. It's not as easy as it sounds, a good eye opener for sure.

im not to happy that i couldnt make it.... my car broke down :upset: :upset:

Ok I wasn't on the course (I had plans that canned at the last moment).

I showed up at the training site for another reason, and got to play "dive boat" hehehe

These guys looked like they were having waaaaaaaaay too much fun learning techniques.

Next time..

Diver Joe once bubbled...

DJ... I didn't forget Dave's name... just did not know his handle and kinda liked the Friend of DJ as a temporary place-holder... and frankly, think it should stick!!!!

You're welcome back anytime... I'd like to gauge your "progress" with those pesky skills!

Steve

.... especially when I did the underwater head stand with my head in the silt.:D
It was amazing to me how much I learned in just one dive.
The next day I felt so much more comfortable and in control of my trim.
I really think the idea of seeing patterns in the deco plan is wonderfully simple and extremely useful.
Diving without a computer - a little scarey at first but truly a confidence-builder in the end.
Diving as a team - a bit tricky but I now see the potential benefits for big dives - I becoming a believer.

If more divers take this course, practice the skills and model them to others - well.... diving will be safer and defiinitely more enjoyable.

I'm excited to take the next course with Doppler!!!!
:)
