I was asked to introduce myself, but first, I've read the posts from this board for months and I have to say that all who post on this board are not only knowlegeable but show a devout love of this sport and its great. I only hope I can keep up the high standard.... with that said i'm Eric.. my wife is BethAnn.We've been divers for a year in a half with 35 dives under our belt. we were originally certified as YMCA divers but crossed certified trough PADI for our advanced to decrease confusion foreign dive operations might have accepting a YMCA C-card. We live in Ohio and very much enjoy Quarry diving were viz here in our quarrys on a good day can be 60ft or better. we have dove the Great Bahama islands with UNEXSO, dove St. Lucia, day dove Grand Cayman, and Cozumel on a cruise! Dove Devils Den and Blue Grotto springs in Florida as well as Crystal River, lastly we dove the Living Seas at Epcot center, Walt Disney World and recently Dove Ketchakan, Alaska and had a cold.....great time! We are paid up to dive with the new Nekton live-aboard Nov 17th and it would seem that Hurricane Michelle would have cleared out by that time.. wish us good luck on our first live-aboard! thanks for being interested and thanks again for the kind welcomes we have recieved

Eric and Wife BethAnn,

I am glad you chose to introduce yourself. You will not find a better group of diving enthusiasts anywhere above or below water! And you will find the range of knowledge here is pretty darn extensive!

So kick back and enjoy and feel free to join in at any time, none of the locals bite. Well okay so Joewr does sometimes, but that is only if he doesn't get his snickers on a daily basis!

Welcome Aboard!

Eric and Beth Ann,
Welcome form NJ.
Syruss said it best. You have found a board loaded with good people who have tons of info about diving, a willingness to share it, and many great(?) senses of humor to boot.Ask, tell, share-and welcome.
Good luck,
Miked

Wow - you've got 35 dives under your belts but you've been to so many places! I have 25 ... all in the same area.

Hope you enjoy your first liveaboard trip - and that Hurricane Michelle has indeed blown over by then. I'm going on my first liveaboard to the Similan Islands in February - really looking forward to diving some new sites and spending time on the boat.

Don't forget to come back and tell us about it!

Good luck

BTW we saw you lurking , but we were just afraid of scaring you away...............lol

First, welcome to the fun and games. As you've probably already discovered there are some highly unique individuals that hang out here.

I am impressed -- so few dives yet so many places, and you're doing a live-aboard!

do tell all when you get back

Eric (and BethAnn by extention),

Looks like you both have enjoyed a variety of experiences in your 35 dives. Great! Believe me, it gets better and better the more you dive.

Hope you had a good time diving Devil's Den, Blue Grotto and Crystal River. Being in Gainesville, all three are in my 'back yard', so to speak. Did you see any Manatee at CR?

Finally, I hope you will share some of your future dive experiences with us, especially those you'll have on your upcoming Nekton Pilot trip. Reef damage reportedly is minimal because Michelle moved through the area so fast.

Enjoy,

Warren

Welcome!

Loved your list - It included many of my favorites & on 35 dives! - - Excellent.

I've just joined the lsit myself and it's quite addicting!

Dive Safe! - Cheers

I've been diving all over the world and have never had a problem with my YMCA card. Your concern was unjustified. All major cards are recognized world wide.
