Thank you ScubaBoard, and Oxycheq.
Through the interface of ScubaBoard I was able to meet Patrick the owner of Oxycheq. Having already heard of the fame of his buoyancy wings, I asked to receive a catalogue of his products, and he directed me to his website.
Then once I found the wings that I wanted, I asked him further about customizing the inflator/deflator hose lengths. Patrick was kind enough to call me on the phone and offer to customize the wings (I needed 3 of them) to whatever specs I had in mind.
So I asked for 19 inch hoses, the perfect size for me, together with extra elbow-connectors so that I could convert my other Zeagle inflators into Oxycheq backup inflators (I had learned in Mexico several years ago always to bring an extra detachable inflator/deflator assembly with me, in case the original one begins to leak air).
Today the package arrived, and the new Oxycheq wings fit beautifully on my gear.
I ordered an 18 lbs wing for Florida and Hawaii single-tank warm water diving, and an 40 lbs wing for single-tank New England, Great Lakes, and California freezing cold water diving, and an 50 lbs doubles wing for twin-tank deco diving.
The single tank wings fit nicely between my backplate and STA (there are cams built into the Oxycheq wing backing material, so that you can do without an STA, however I still prefer the STA). And the doubles wing fits nicely between my backplate and my tank band bolts.
These are perfect wings. I asked around for several months what to buy, of different experts such as AG and the local tech dive store owner, regarding size (lift capacity), style (single tank or doubles), and brand name.
Then to meet Patrick here and discuss the specifics of the order sealed the decision process. Since I was buying 3 wings, I did not want to make a mistake. Since these 3 are all by Oxycheq, the parts (elbow connectors and inflator/deflator hoses) are all interchangeable among all the wings.
I will soon put the doubles wings to work on a trip to the Wreck Alley of San Diego, Southern California USA, and then afterwards the 18 lbs wing in Kona Hawai'i.
Thank you, Patrick, and thank you ScubaBoard!
