Ok, since I still have an undeveloped roll of film full of underwater pictures from the dive trip over two years ago to Cozumel, :11doh: I decided that I needed to join the ranks of the "digital" underwater photographer. Nothing beats instant gratification!
After reading many of the posts in this and other forums I've decided to get a Canon A620, 2 gig memory card, with a 1 gig back-up, the Canon WP-DC90 underwater housing. The housing is currently on order from Amazon.com for approximately $160 and the camera was purchased at Costco for $260. Throw in $100 for memory cards and batteries and I have what I hope to be an excellent underwater/above-water camera system for just over $500.
I will be practicing in my pool with the camera for the next couple of weekends just to familiarize myself with the controls, the feel and settings...(maybe I'll post a couple of pictures of my Polaris pool cleaner should they turn out
)...so that I'll be ready for the trip to Roatan in June. Should I get any good underwater pic's I'll definately post them for review and additional advice.
Thanks again to all in the Underwater Photography forum for their advice, opinions and pictures...you've been a great help.
Sincerely,
Squashie
