I am using a tg6 with 2 sea&sea ysd2j strobes for night dive photography. I guess I am looking for hints or tricks on getting better shots. I have noticed without any light source you cannot focus the camera on the subject and auto focus doesn't always focus correctly. Is it better to have 1 strobe and 1 video light or do I use a flashlight to slightly illuminate the subject. What do?

One of these two. Make sure that you have ALL parts to connect it to the cold shoe on the housing:

You always need a focusing light - this simply means a continuous light (like a flash light) aimed at your subject.

Mount a cheap 1,000 lumen light to your housing.
I was holding a flashlight on the subject but holding the light in one hand and the camera in the other isn't the easiest. My housing doesn't have a mounting spot, just the two arms on the tray

I have an ikelite housing g and it doesn't have a cold shoe. I only have the two upright arms on the camera tray

Or orcatorch zd710 - will allow you control the tightness of your spot for close up shots.
But yes, a number of continuous lights work well with Tg-6.

You need a triple ball clamp, so you can put both the flash and the focus light on the same arm.

I didn't even know this was an option. Yes I do need one of these, thanks
