What am I doing wrong? I have tried to use the macro function but can't seem to get it to focus. I use a case and a strobe, does it only work alone? Is strobe useless that close? I have many incredible pics from this little jewel of a camera just want to go to the next level. Thanks b

Maybe the problem is in the default settings of TG-4 in the underwater macro mode? The camera zooms in automatically once you switch into this mode. I always zoom it out and focus w/o problems. I do not know if this is a general rule or not, but at least with all zoom lenses and zoom-lens cameras I had, the longer the zoom is, the longer the minimal focusing distance becomes.
However, I do not have a case for TG-4 and use this camera only for snorkeling.

No it works with the housing. Of course you can get closer without. Strobe is not useless and we also use a focus light.
Check you macro settings there are many options to choose
Hope this helped a lil

Sometimes with my UWL-04 lens attached I have to zoom out slightly for it to focus but without a lens attached I haven't had a focus problem and I always use a strobe.

Are you using a wet lens, what housing?
