I recently got some great footage of a basking shark approaching our boat and wanted to incorporate it into a video. Most of my underwater footage before this has gone into purely a music video highlight reel type approach, and I was wondering how you all feel about the addition of voice overs to the footage. I tried to tell the story of the encounter, let me know if you think it works.

Personally I like the story being told. How else would one know that creature was 25ft long?

Thanks for sharing :)

We hung out with this one for 45 minutes.

Voiceover can really enhance a video. It is a key difference between amateur and professional productions. However, it's not easy. Doing it well is a combination of good writing and a good voice. Pro level productions are made by a team of people.

As an amateur, I struggle with both the writing and I hate the sound of my voice. I wish I had friends that could write or have a "movie" voice.

I think you are headed in the right direction.

Where was this? Somewhere in NorCal?
Just outside Monterey Bay. There were actually three of them, but this is the one we hung out with. There used to be hundreds cruising around, before they were deemed a nagivational hazard and rammed on purpose with a specially designed killing boat.

:shocked2:

I truly hope that you are joking because if not, then that is truly an abomination.
