No personal experience. But Craig DeWitt, skipper of the Golden Dawn, recommended this boat when we were looking for a PNG trip and couldn't make our schedules mesh with his.

DontLieToMe:
Anybody have any experience with this boat?

Hello dltm, I was onboard the boat last year. It was refitted top to bottom. Looked very nice, roomy, had high ceilings in the cabins as Capt. Bob Halstead is a tall man. If he is onboard for the trip you're considering, you can't go wrong. He has written several books on PNG and the Coral Sea Reef guide. He's a long time PNG native and a very nice man. -Andy

Andy,

Thank you. One of my reasons for asking is that Paul Baker, one of the owners, is now skippering the boat. It appears the Halsteads have moved on (from their web-site) and are doing trips on the Golden Dawn and Febrina.

Hi DTLM, I've met Paul as well, he is a long time PNG resident and a very nice guy. I've never been on the boat with him though. I would think that he had a lot of time to gleen knowledge from the Halsteads as they have been partners for a while and would probably be a good Capt. -Andy

On the Febrina, you say?? Hmmmmm..... I knew that Alan was thinking of selling the FeBrina and concentrate on the Stardancer, but I didn't know that it had happened. Has the FeBrina been bought by them?
