This is probably a question that gets asked a million times on here if it is i apologise but I'm needing some perspective, i have been diving for 3 years now and I'm looking to up skill so like most, I'm looking at a wing.
now most people in my club have Halcyon kit which i have had a try dive with and love the buoyancy control it offers but the price is a little off putting.
i have my eye on either a hollis rig or scuba pro but when i start talking to people about them in the club they look at me as if I'm a leper when i mention scuba pro x-tek pure just the bare bones unit, which would be the cheaper of the two.

ideally I'm looking at getting something that will last and if need be replace bits that need replacing, and i haven't seen a scuba pro in the flesh to poke my nose around to see weather it stacks up too halcyon or hollis.

if any one can offer some experience with the SP wing would be greatly appreciated.

I have scubapro gear, MK25/s600 regs (6 sets) and Knighthawk BCD (3 Knighthawk and 3 Ladyhawk). I prefer the Kinghthawk to my Sub Seac wing. Scubapro offer very good support and the gear is robust and reliable.

Having a Wing wont 'up skill'. You should be able to get good trim with most BCs. Do you plan to move to doubles?

If 'club members' look at you as a leper possibly time to find a more inclusive club! They should be helping you get your skills up not judging based on gear.

I know scubapro backplate is made by halcyon, which mean very high quality. Even the cinch adaptor will fit on SP plate. Not sure about their wings tho

Sounds like you are thinking about buying a goldwing and planning on riding it alongside the HOGS. Popular vote does not always determine the right course of action.
