If tec means technical diving, and rec means recreational diving, then...

dec diving - I went diving but never left the boat
gec diving - I used my cheap Suunto computer
hec diving - I went diving just because
nec diving - I only submerged my head but my shoulders stayed dry
pec diving - as above only a little deeper
sec diving - drysuit, duh!
