Hi

I shoot the rx100 with inon wide angle and dome underwater. On land we shoot with a 60d.

I would like like to move to a full frame camera for a few reasons. I is to get full use of my lenses. Another is the improved high ISO performance. My wife and I travel a lot so the wifi and gps features seem nice to quickly get a shot out to friends and family without having to go back to the computer.

I always shoot raw and I prefer wide angle shipwrecks and sea scapes where strobes are less useful it the water still may be dark.

What are your thoughts on the 6d? I like the price and features and it seems like a camera I could live with for a while. I don't want to house my 60d because I feel the investment would be wasted when I get the upgrade itch to full frame.

I already have lenses and speed lights for canon so I am not interested in Nikon or others.

Thanks

Well there are two issues here. The 6D is a great camera (as is the 5DMIII) but your choices of lenses for WA are a bit limited compared to ef-s lenses where the Tokinas are quite nice. Focusing on the 6D is not quite as nice as on the 5DIII (lots more focus points) but the 6D is about half the price. Look at the 8-15 Canon lens (it is amazing) and the 16-35 is quite nice but both are expensive.
Enjoy

What lenses for Ef-s do you recommend?

I have the 10-22 for my 60d I would just like the higher ISO performance of some of the others. Focus points don't bother me much. I always use center focus.

One more thing. Which lens and dome combo would give me a similar field of view as my rx100 with inon uwl and dome?

The Inon dome is about 144 degrees in the water. The 8-15 is a circular fisheye, which means 180 degrees and the sigma 15/canon 15 are also fisheye with 180 degrees. The 16-35 will be about 110 degrees or so. You might also try the Tokina 10-17, on full frame it is very nice (but a bit soft in the corners).

For UW WA it is hard to beat the Tokina 10-17 on a crop camera. The DOF and IQ are excellent. It will set you back about $600 which is quite a bit less than the Canon alternatives. It is also much smaller. I shoot at T2i underwater and am quite happy with it. Topside, I have a 6D and and 60D which are great for specific jobs. If you put MagicLantern on a compatible camera you get a lot of great capabilities for video. The 6D UW would be most useful as a video camera, albeit an expensive and large one.
