Taking the DM test (PADI)

Ok, here goes the basic question. Can i take the exam with another PADI instructor?

I will be moving from Texas to Florida and i soooo pressed for time, it would help if i could. I have everthing else done i just need to take the test. Any help is great thx.

You can do the written exams with another instructor, but then you will have to repeat at least one in-water section.

PADI recently clarified that though you can take a DM referral and finish your course elsewhere, the final certifying instructor must see you complete at least one in-water part of the course.


But try to do your current instructor a favor and complete the exams before you go. After working with a candidate for so long, it is satisfying to see them complete the course and get signed off.

I can't believe you're leaving diving in Texas for diving in florida....What are you going to do with all that viz??

West Palm Beach. Iam so exited, its as if someone told me iam going to be living at disney land. I tried looking for dive sites and got really overwhelmed. Florida has to be divers heaven

It is, and if you've only looked at Palm Beach Dive sites, there are at least 3 more counties for you to indulge yourself in

BTW, good luck!! I hope to be taking the same test in the next few weeks, then is off to Grand Cayman for my complimentary IDC that I won on Ocean Fest :dazzler1:
