My buddy Dave and I are booked on the Turks & Caicos Explorer May 21-28. Between the $500 discount that week and Continental now having fairly inexpensive direct flights from EWR it was too hard to pass up this trip.

Anyone else going?

We did last May - same week IIRC. It's a great trip. The crew is a lot of fun, the boat is large and roomy and the food is pretty great also. Ask Stan (the cook) if he's gone diving yet...lol. (he's been on the boat for years and never has)

The diving at French Cay is some of the best I've ever seen in the Caribbean. Sharks, Turtles, Barracuda, Rays a few big Lionfish and healthy Coral all the way down the wall. West Caicos was good also. If you do macro photography some of the coral pillars near the moorings at a couple of the sites are packed with stuff - I spent a couple dives at 30-40' and never made it out to the wall. It was so balmy I slept on the top deck a couple of nights.

I second what Steve said. The boat is great and the Explorer staff has always been a lot of fun and professional. I wish I could go! :(

well,

I'm on the T&CII June 11. They changed the itinerary for three weeks and I'm now going to San Salvador, Conception and Long Island(s). Took that one last year with CEXII and had a great time. Going to do it again and see if I see a lot of different things. I was looking forward to French Cay though.

Thanks for posting Ray. It looks like we may not find other SB'ers on board. Maybe it will be just us two...

I'm thinking very hard about this. Just need to get the time off and then I'll pull the trigger.

Odds are better than 50-50 I'll be on this boat.

I'm doing more cave and tech training this year, so I won't be able to do another trip with them. I did T&C a couple of years back, though, and had a good time. Nothing like stepping off the back of the boat over a vertical mile of water!
