What is the right way to position a swivel(turret) first stage - pointing up or down?
I've seen both ways, and personally (I have a Beuchat VX4 swivel 1st stage) I position it ponting down. Is there an advantage of doing that in the opposite way?

Turret pointing down.

Some have the turret upside down, claiming that it allows them more freedom of movement since the swivel is now on top. I don't buy that at all. I does not offer any more range of movement and exposes the turret to collision damage...not a good idea.
