Hello all!
I am Martin a Swedish guy, I live in Shanghai since a year and a half.

I started diving during Christmas time 2010 when I made my OW in Subic Bay at Johan's dive resort having the now deceased Steve Britain, RIP, as my instructor. At first I was only going to do the OW course and never really concentrate on diving so much again unless I happend to be at a place offering diving, but Steve really made med change my mind. Back in Shanghai I bought a dive computer, wet suite, mask and reef gloves and in February 2011 I went to Puerto Galera diving with the Big Apple resort and recieving the AOW certification. Had a great time diving once again and now I am planning a trip to Bali in early October this time bringing a camera and my Chinese girl friend who I gave the "Discover scuba" course and then had to put her in swim school since she got bitten about being underwater from the course (despite only being in a pool).

Hope to see ya guys around some time, some where in the world!

/Martin

Hi Martin. You must be sad about your instructor. It's clear that he was an inspiration to you, and it's a tribute to him that his enthusiasm lives on in former students like you.

Bali in October should be fun, and there are tons of other places in Indonesia as well for future dive trips. Another place within "striking distance" from Shanghai is Thailand ;)
