I dived at Swanage in Dorset last week end and the visibility was horrendous, After descending we finally found the wreck we was looking for but could not see futher than perhaps .5 of a foot, following the line of the boat we found suddenly that we had gone over the side and was on the bottom of the sea bed, and even after turning around could not locate the wreck, so after deciding to surface and deploy my smb at 6 m, I found to my horror I was totally disorientaed by the blackness and even though our bouyancy was good we had trouble deploying due to the currents, I have now decided that in future I will deploy my smb from the bottom and wind it up to my safety stop as things could have got quite hairy, just thought I would share this experience as even after 70 dives it proves you learn something new all the time
