SW Florida man dies during Key West dive trip

The Associated Press

KEY WEST, Fla. -- A Florida man died shortly after emerging from the water during a dive trip off Key West.
Monroe County Sheriff's officials say 65-year-old xxxxx was diving with his 29-year-old son xxxxxxx on Wednesday when he suddenly slumped over while removing dive gear.
Deputies say Kennedys took the trip aboard the dive boat "Phoenix" and had been in the water for about 25 minutes. The pair emerged about 3 p.m. and they were hanging onto a tow line when the son saw his father slump over.
The Punta Gorda man was brought onboard, where CPR was performed. The U.S. Coast Guard met the boat and brought Kennedy to the Coast Guard station in Key West. He was later pronounced dead at Lower Keys Hospital. An autopsy is planned.
