I've installed suunto's dive manager and i have learned how to add dives to it, but i want to know how to add pictures to the dives, locations, and my equipment. how do you do it? any other things you like about it?

2.3.0

I have an old version and the new version. They are both a pain! Honestly, I like the old version better. The new one is NOT user friendly. Unfortunately, I have not mastered it yet (maybe never will) and cannot advise you on it. I know people who will only use the older version, ignoring their newer logs.

Too bad.....great computers, lousy log manager.

I use 2.3.0

1) To add locations - expand your username on the top left hand corner by clicking on the plus sign and you should see a locations node. Right click the locations node and you will see a submenu with "Add Location", "Add Dive Site", etc.

2) To add equipment - expand your username on the top left hand corner by clicking on the plus sign and you should see a dive gear node. Right click the dive gear node and you will see a submenu. Select "Add Dive Item".

3) To add pictures - once you've completed #1 and added dive locations and dive sites you can select the dive site under the locations node and you will see a picture field with a "Browse" button so you can find the image on your computer's hard drive.

Hope this helps.

Worth noting that linking it to full size pictures greatly slows the programme down once you've used a few.

FWIW v1 is much slick as a program, 2 is horrible,

I figured out how to browse for a picture, but it wouldnt upload to the manager.

Weird I just tried it with jpegs of different sizes and it worked. What type are you using bitmap/gif/jpeg and what size image.

Cheers.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that prefers the older verison of dive manager, much more user friendly!

v1 has a much better method of displaying the summary/lists, is a lot easier to use, less bloated.

I cant list a single improvment v2 made over v1 except maybe that the DB is now stored in access format so should be possible to write 3rd party software to utilise this.
