I understand that you have to sync the D9 with the transmitter before each dive. I realize that I will have to sync it to read the pressure when I set up my gear, but what happens if I forget to sync it again when I start my dive up to an hour later? Can I sync underwater by just reaching back and putting the D9 near the transmitter while I am underwater, say 30ft for example, or is does that have to be done on the surface? I searched and couldn't find an answer. Thanks.

I love my D9 and all the info it gives me, but syncing flakes out occasionally.

I've tried but it doesn't sync-up underwater once it gets wet and kicks into dive mode. I keep an SPG as back up. I also recommend not syncing until just before your dive as part of putting on your BCD proceedure. I've synced, walked away, come back later and tried to resync and gotten a "FAIL" on the pressure reading. But once in the water, it did read the pressure but I was leary enough to continue to verify it with my SPG.

mselenaous no you can't The D9 needs to be in the code search mode to find the transmitter code before it can link.
