I am interested in the mobility of the Fusion dry suit but am curious as to how buoyant it is at the surface. I like to kayak dive but am often very cold toward the end of the dive and usually cut the dive short long before my air goes low. The Fusion offers me the mobility to paddle the kayak and the front zipper makes it easier to zip up from a sitting position. This means I can leave the dry suit unzipped for ventilation while paddling.
The problem is once I get to the dive site I lift the B/P & Wing into the water, don the rest of the gear and gut my weight belt on. Then slide into the water. Currently I wear 6lbs of weight on my wetsuit. I won't sink with this amount of weight but it is enough once I get the B/P & Wing on.
I have been told that I might need 4lbs of weight for the drysuit. Will I still float on the surface in the Fusion with 10 lbs of lead? I don't want to be struggling to remain on the surface while I get the rest of the gear on.
Thanks!
Jeremy
