I received one of echinoderminator's new boards this weekend. It is very well made and thought out. It was designed around the needs of Northern California freediving spearfisherman and Abalone divers, but I can see using it for Scuba and body surfing as well. A lot of attention was given to making it packable up and down steep cliffs. The new carrying backpack-style harness is far better than in the early photos above. I suspect it would also be useful for instructors and rescues off dive boats.

It weights a little less than 10½ Lbs as delivered. The total displacement is 68 Lbs, so it has about 58 Lbs total buoyancy. It measures 41" long, 24" wide, and varies from about 3½ to 10" thick. It tracks very well and dramatically increases speed and comfort of surface swims.

I experimented with rigging to use a standard large mesh game bag instead of the supplied netting. I also replaced the dive flag adapter with a stainless steel eye and added all the webbing and bungees.
