I have been getting into my Suunto 3.0 dive program for two years and did not notice that next to my user name was apparently a password. Entering a password was not necessary each time I got in. I created a new user for my dive buddy and when I went back to my user it was asking for a password. The password that I was unaware of. Now I cannot get into my data (ie past dives). Anyone know a work around to this problem. I have tried to restore my data base which is backed up but the program shuts down right away and nothing seems to happen. Thanks a huge million to anyone who can help.

If you don't remember adding a password, you may want to try the default, which is blank.

We did, and about 35 other combinations. Meanwhile, I'm trying to rebuild my dive program with all the sites, profile data, etc. Everything. Luckily I have printed them out. It still seems to want a password. I've lost all the data on the computer. If I want to re-build it, I can. Sheesh. Even though we backed up the informaton, the Suunto program won't import the file data even tho we are asking it to import it in the same format it was saved. This entire scenario is more than frustrating. I could cut one of my hoses right now. ... but I won't.

I did a quick search and it is possible that the Suunto file is a microsoft access database file (.mdb), if this is the case i know there was a program i found a few years ago that could extract the password from the file.

Let me know if it is an Access database and i will see if i can find the program to recover the password.

I use divingLog and found this on their site www.divinglog.de

The Suunto Dive Manager 2 import of Diving Log is asking for a *.mdb file, where could I find this file? The Dive Manager can’t export to the *.mdb format. I have only a SDE file. You don’t need to export when using the Suunto Dive Manager 2, you can import directly the Dive Manger logbook file which you can find here (the folder is hidden by default, so you must display all files and folders in the Explorere settings):

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Suunto\D9.mdb

Windows Vista:
C:\ProgramData\Suunto\D9.mdb
How can I import from Suunto Dive Manager 3?

the password to the d9.mdb by MS Access or OpenOffice Base or anything else is 'koira'
the password for the user is in the table 'items', in the column 't_custom1'
select the users by the column 'parent', with the value -1

thankyou for your help. We are going to try to make this work. We've worked so much on this that we need to step back from it a day or two and live life. It's been really frustrating. The other problem I'm trying to deal with is that Suunto v. 3.0 is not importing all my dives (99) to my Suunto program on the hard drive. It imports the last 63, but not the previous 37. My dive buddy has this same problem, I posted that elsewhere, so have to deal with that too. I am going for a dive this afternoon. I need to submerce myself in some water.
