Sunset House or Scuba Club Cozumel?

The wife and I are planning a dive vacation for August. We have narrowed it down to the dive resorts of Sunset House Grand Cayman and Scuba Club Cozumel. We have been to both Grand Cayman and Cozumel but have only been diving in Cozumel. We would like to here if anyone has any good input about either place. Our goal for this vacation is diving and relaxation.

both resorts/hotels are well run.....I would say flip a coin you cannot go wrong.....GC of course is a bit more expensive but Sunset House has a fairly decent house reef so you could probably get in more diving....

Cozumel as you know is not really known for its shore diving....but has some patchy sandy areas in front of Scuba club that you can poke around in....going with Scuba club you will be diving with their house dive op....that is not a bad thing but you do not have the option of choosing your dive op....

neither resort has a beach but they do have small areas to chill out.....I think My Bar at Sunset House is one of the best places to watch the famous "green flash" at sunset....

Thanks for the info. I have to say we are leaning toward GC and Sunset House, but you never know until the reservations are booked!

Sunset House hands down. Good shore diving. Boat rides are shorter. Can walk to town. And you can drink the water.

I've only done Sunset House between the 2

We've done them both, loved them. Did Sunset House 3x, Scuba Club once. We'd go back to SC.

Sunset House does indeed have better shore diving. There's a decent reef about 100 yards offshore that you can snorkel out to and drop down at the buoy. There's nothing really to speak of at SC. But you'll get a better bang for your buck in Cozumel. The diving, of course, is fantastic at both locations, both have outstanding dive shops and crews. And there's a lot of nice, inexpensive restaurants in Cozumel.

Just for laughs, have you ever been to Brac Reef Resort? We've been talking about going back there. We liked it better than Sunset House, and we'd go back there too.

These are two of my favorite places to go. The dive staff at both places are excellent. If money is not a problem, it is a coin flip. If you are on a budget, gotta go with SCC.

You will have fun either way!
