We will always remember this week as one of the best of the season !!!

Air Temp: 80-81º F,
Wind: Calm
Water Temp: 80º F
3mm Wetsuit recommended

On a beautifully Belizean day we welcomed 10 charming and enthusiastic guests onboard the Sun Dancer II. Everyone was excited to be back or visiting for the first time. Once all were situated on the dive deck and in their cabins we all congregated in the salon area for a fun and informative safety and yacht briefing followed by the guests introducing themselves.

We are joined this week by Jan and Jack, Rose - Aline, Ashley and Gordon, Peter and Andy, Mariana and Ricardo and Erik. As we set off to Lighthouse Reef from Belize City everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Carlos the chef for the week.

First day of diving was eventful and wonderful. A friendly turtle greeted the divers as they traversed along the wall of Long Caye Ridge. Lionfish and trumpet fish were seen relaxing and hanging around upside down and slightly hidden in the reef. The deep blue color of the water and light aqua color against the white sand made for the picture perfect setting to begin the week of diving.

The second day a big green moray eel was discovered and all the photographers took turns capturing its toothy smile. A large spotted eagle ray was seen flying along the wall and even turned around to give some divers an extra long time to admire it. During a day dive Jack was able to spot an incredible octopus that posed for him to take pictures as well.
During a safety stop over the sand Ashley was excited to see as many as six stingrays eating in the sand kicking up the sediment. It was a wonderful day of diving and everyone had a great time.

The next day was adventurous and also had some of the best dives of the trip so far. At Tarpon Caves in the cave itself the divers were delighted to swim thru over 3.7 million silversides that left them overwhelmed with joy. True to its name Tarpons were seen up to 14 at once. The dive sites had remarkable coral structure, schools of barracuda and more turtle action. The night dive was also fun filled and left everyone with big smiles after.

Wednesday was a treat with perfect weather as we headed to the Blue Hole for a world-class dive. Famous for being a big blue hole the divers made their decent down to 130 feet and appreciated the stalactites and felt the thermocline as they got to the planned depth. On the way back to the rim the ascent was gradual and enjoyable. Once reaching the yacht everyone agreed that it was a super great dive, one to remember.

Later that morning the divers took to the island and explored a national park called Half Moon Caye Island that looks like paradise with tall palm trees and white sand beaches littered with shells.

Thursday was another beautiful day with warm sun and extremely blue waters. The divers enjoyed more of the friendly wildlife and considered it a great week of diving at Light House Reef. On Friday we moved over to Turneffe Island and had two great morning dives. Everyone agreed it was a wonderful week and there were tearful good byes at the dock on Saturday morning.

We will always remember this week as one of the best of the season. Thank you to those that joined us.

Much Love from all the crew of the Sun Dancer II
