Hi,

I am headed back to Kauai in februray, and have already done all the standard boat dives off the south and west shores more than a few times. N' iuhue is supposedly not accessable this time of year, so my question is: does anyone have any suggestions about any specialty dive outfits on kuaui, or know of any excellent shore dives in the advanced range. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks rod

Aloha!
As so many experienced return divers have - it's sounds as though you have been to the basics (Caverns, Bluffs, Fastlanes, IceBox, Brenneckes, etc...)

Curious ... have you been to Zach's Pocket, Kipu Corner, Cargo Nets, or Hurricanes?

There are some rare sites to generally do when divers request avoiding the basic day to day sites.

Niihau is out this time of year and won't be diver friendly again until the Spring.

If time permits let me know where you have been and I will give you some suggestions on new spots and how you might get there. Have your trips been out of Port Allen or Poipu?

You'll be here during some of the best weeks of Whale season so that should be exciting if you haven't been here in Feb before.

I'll be more than happy to help with any questions you may have and do everything I can to help make sure you see some new exciting spots on the island (underwater). I have been here for 8 years and have a reasonably good familiarity with the dive options having completed a tiny bit over 4,000 dives here. Guess you could say I like the water just a little, huh?

Best of island wishes and let me know how I can further help

There are times during the winter that some unique experiences are offered for the more adventurous diver. I think I neglected to say that.

Some of the deeper sites here are incredible to check but are only experienced a handful of times by divers.

Some of the companies are more willing than others to travel long distances to reach some of these spots.

Anyway - let me know how I can help with any specifics.

Ola Back, and thanks for the response.

I've been to all the places you mentioned plus a place I believe they call Stonehouse, and a few spots offshore of the Sheriton.
I have not been to cargo net or hurricanes. Info on those would be great. Also, would you be available anytime on the 9th of feb? I would be happy to cruise by your shop and get a heads up from you personally and maybe hook me up with the right people.

Thanks again R.

I have several people requesting me for dives that week but i can try to spend some time in the shop on the afternoon of the 9th.

Depending on your availabilty I know there are other spots as well that would likely be new to you in addition to those mentioned.

At any rate I will do whatever i can to help you out.

Send me a PM and I will send you contact info back

Best
AJ

Today we dove Ambers Arches. Shauna's shelves, and Camp one. Not sure if you have visited those spots?
