Suggestions for Christmas trip?

I am thinking about planning a "last minute" vacation the week of Christmas/New Years for diving. I normally dive in Hawaii, but I'm considering trying somewhere new, and of course, I'm apprehensive about it, particularly because of the holidays. I'm also traveling single.

Does anyone have suggestions for a holiday trip and recommendations for accommodations and dive shops? I live in southern california.

How about somewhere like cocoView in Roatan?? Lots of diving to be had and no worries about not having a buddy.
