This is killing me. We came down to Akumal for a couple of weeks. I dove last Wednesday. It was great. Caught a cold. Canceled two dives on Saturday. Woke up this morning and still don't feel 100% so we are going to cancel 2 dives today. Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Planned all year for this trip. Was hoping to get in at least a dozen dives. May be lucky to get in half of that.

Yep. Colds are everywhere. Especially on the airplane. All it takes is for one bozo to have a cold and it spreads to everyone. I carry a couple of filters in my carry-on and if I hear someone sneeze or cough a bunch I wear the thing the rest of the flight. Fifty cents could save you hundreds.

My last trip to Bonaire a few months back was pretty shot diving wise due to sinus issues and it stunk. I feel your pain, lol. Dive long enough and you will have to cancel dives eventually for some reason or another. Six years diving for me and I have had countless dives canceled due to weather, sickness, travel issues, and various other reasons beyond our control. Easy for me to say relax and enjoy the food and rest but when you are the one not able to dive, it sucks. Sorry.

That really sucks, but Akumal is one of my most favorite places to be whether I can dive or not. Enjoy the non dive time to visit Lucy's in town for some shrimp tacos and homemade ice cream, snorkel with the tortugas (awesome), or visit some of the cool ruins. I know you'd rather be diving, but being in Akumal and not diving still beats being at work! Hope you feel better soon.
