Hi Folks,

I'm looking for a manufacturer of large strobes - I got an off-the-shelf strobe that in 30 foot viz, can't be seen from 30 feet. I'm looking for a line strobe that can actually be seen from a long distance in low-vis situations.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I wasn't talking about camera strobes...

I've had a couple of TekTite strobes that both died (the electronics seems to be particularly fragile).

TekTite replaced one, then ignored me the second time, so I switched brands.

My current strobe is a Jotron, which has been flawless.

Check this one out Princeton Tec Aqua Strobe

http://www.princetontec.com/

My instructor used it and find it very effective in locating him during night dives. I just got one for myself but haven't get the chance to use it yet.

Have have had great success with the Xentec SL-15 Strobe. http://divemar.com/~shop/results.tpl?action=full&--eqskudatarq=X-SL15 . This strobe has a Velcro strap that will allow you to fasten the strobe to your inflater hose. This makes it convenient to operate if necessary. I tried the Princeton Tec strobe and had two failures in am matter of days on a live-aboard. dawhale
