I just finished my third dive trip with my digital camera and I'm happy to say that my photos are getting better as I learn more and more about my camera. My question is this. Often, I simply do not get enough light generated from the internal flash and would now like to buy a strobe. My camera is an Olympus-D580. My next camera will be a digital SLR of some type. As I am not ready to upgrade cameras at this time I would like to buy a strobe that I could use with the d580 as well as with my future SLR. Is this a reasonable request and if so does anyone have any ideas regarding which strobes I should look into? I am still VERY new to underwater digital photography and not very familiar with the nomenclature associated with it. I have no problem investing serious bucks in a strobe if I know that I will not need to change it when I upgrade and if it will work with a d580. Thanks.

My used strobe YOU bought will not make you a happy camper with your new DIG SLR. You send it back put the coffee back in the box. I also agree with the INON route. I like mine.

When I was in the local dive shop the other day I saw that ReefMaster had a new strobe that was supposed to work on any camera. This might fit you since you want to use it on more than one camera. I now that Reefmaster isn't as good as some other brands, but it might be an option for you.

Universal Accessory External Flash For All Digital Cameras

I think it was $279. PM me if you need a URL for where they had it for sale and I'll go look it up.

Thank you for the responses, and no Domino 22 you're not getting the coffee back under any circumstances. I may, however, send the stobe back!!!
