Hi all,

Which strobe model would work well with Canon G16 in Fantasea housing?
I´m looking to buy 1 strobe.
This set would be mostly for macro photography.
Some strobes have focus light on board, does those lights work well at night dives or do i need separate focus light for night dives?

Thanks in advance!

-Kimi

Hi Kimi!

The YS-01 is the most popular strobes people use for that camera & housing. You can get it bundled up with a arm/tray and fiber optic cable such as this package: Underwater Strobe | Sea and Sea YS-01 & Fantasea Blueray Tray Flex Package
The target light is quite strong and could be enough for night dives.
Some other options would be the Inon S2000, YS-D1 if you want a stronger strobe, or the YS-03 if you want a simpler strobe.
This might help you decide and give you some useful info: Best Strobe for Underwater - The Ultimate Strobe Guide

Thanks Ran, that strobe guide has good info!

Been reading that YS-01 DS-TTL connection is not as reliable as Inon´s.
But then Inon S-2000 doesn´t have a build in focus light...
YS-D1 is bit more expensive than YS-01, but is YS-D1 more reliable than YS-01?
