hi i have a s95 and recsea housing with inon macro and WA lenses, i currently hav ys25 strobe which is not strong enough for this camera [it was great on my fuji f31 ] as its really just a macro strobe,,,,,any suggestions for best strobe with these set up, what make is best to look at, i really want one under £500, ideally one around the £300 mark but is taht too low for a decent strobe?

thanks guys, love the camera and so glad i paid the extra for the recsea housing as it was worth every penny

Hi Mantababe, I have pretty much the same setup as you except I bought the Inon D2000 strobe which I think is excellent - the angle of coverage is something like 100-110 degrees, so good for my UWL-100 lens. It has plenty of choices for strobe strength if you want to adjust it, manual or auto, and works with the S95 in I think any combination of flash setup on the camera itself. Its Red too! You should also factor in the cost of an optical cable to connect from the flash port on the housing to the strobe - not cheap... You could also look at the Inon S2000 which is more portable (smaller) and cheaper but I don't know the functional differences to the D2000. Cameras Underwater have the specs I think on their website. I think your RecSea/S95/Inon lenses would be well matched by one of these Inon strobes!

I'd recommend the Sea & Sea YS-01 strobe- we carry it for about $430 here, which would be in your budget, and it's got plenty of power.
