Probably a lame question, but...... As I mentioned in a previous post I've just got a Canon 400D. I'll be putting it in an Ikelite housing and I want to know. Can I use an older style flash such as an Ikelite or Nikonos strobe? I was thinking of something like
one of the previous as a main strobe and one of my Inons as a second slave strobe (as
they are fibre optic cable jobbies. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I would go for
a current Ikelite but the budgets getting stretched, specialised U/W gear is pretty costly here in NZ.

Aquakiwi,

According to the Ikelite website, if you want to use the eTTL circuitry you have to use an Ike DS series strobe. I expect the other strobes would operate, but would probably have to be used in manual mode. You might want to call Ikelite and ask them to be sure.
