hi - an urchin spine went right thru my thumb and got embedded underneath my nail. had minor surgery a couple of days ago to take it out and ended up with some stitches. (I have a few more days before I have the stitches removed.) I would like to dive this Sat in a quarry but was wondering if this would be alright? I was thinking of attaching dry gloves but didn't know if the squeeze would be good on the finger?

thanks

Last time I went diving with stitches I used "Liquid Band-Aid" to form a waterproof coating, then protected that with a glove. My stitches were at the first joint of the finger, though, and not the fingertip, so there was little chance I'd put much stress on it.

there shouldn't be any problems what so ever, as long as you don't try the same thing twice or put any stress on the sutures which you'll feel pain before they actually tear apart.

i had a chainsaw accident on my knee a while back...major pivet point right? so i figured my weekend diving was done. but i wrapped it up in saran wrap, and then gently pulled the wetsuit on over it. worked like a charm :)

my max depth was about 80fsw
