The HD video with the Picsio is great and wondered what the pictures in still mode look like. ScubaBoard Gallery - JVC Picsio Stills Kwajalein All are shot in ambient light, seems purer and looks like what the dive really was and also less stuff to lug around. :cool2:
First, the camera and subject should be as still as possible - must have a steady hand on camera (you don't see the ones I deleted, they were many) but that is the same for the video. Next the color saturation with the red filter is outstanding. I took many at 8mp but somehow accidentally set on lowest setting (VGA) and the few shots were much crisper. Then set on 5 mp and the results were better, maybe the shutter speed is increased since it doesn't have to gather as much information? If you look at the album picture sizes, you can figure out which is which.
All in all, if a whale shark comes along and you get your video and want a still shot, set the "Camera" mode to 5mp, or less and fire away, you might get a decent shot, the ambient light color will be remarkable.
