I converted my USD Blades to spilt fins almost 2 years ago. They're much easier to use now & I don't think I lost much performance if any.

Probably depends on the fins. What fins are you using?
I've shaved down the side rails on freediving fins which did a good job at reducing stiffness. I also replaced one set of blades.
