Start of Pothole Diving season.

Just a reminder that today is the start of Pothole Diving here in Canada. Due to some injuries last year remember you are now required to use the yellow safety tubes along with an official PDF (Pothole Dive Flag). In some cities police have erected barricades closing off some streets to allow easier ingress and egress although many veteran divers still prefer the excitement of the traffic. Have fun and be safe!

Gee, we do that in here in Michigan as well. Some of these potholes are large enough to provide good staged deco opportunities as well.

We actually have a brand new dive site here in nearby Prattville Alabama. I think this one got national media attention.

The Mayor, bless his heart, says that it's gonna take a half-mil to fix it.

I told him he's crazy - we can put down a couple of platforms and an old car or two and make millions.

The Alabama River is supposed to crest ten feet above flood Sunday morning. There might be more of these before its through.

Geeze Tom, that's a nice one! Looks like you have the beginning of a terrific litlle cave as well. Once the river rises and fills 'er up you'll be set!

We have some craters in my town that are at least 6" deep.
