Went to St. Martin and St. Thomas on cruise and had a great time diving.
I wanted to give good ratings to the dive shops I used.
Octopus Diving - Grand Case, St Martin.
I can't say enough about these guys. Great organization and crew. Carried my dive gear to the boat, set it up for me and where very nice guys to chat with. Dive was shallow with plenty of fish. Did two dives and had no complaints at all. I think I could have walked up, paid my bill and just got on the boat without having to do anything except jump in the water. These guys offered to do everything for me. One thing to be aware of, if you are coming from a cruise ship, it will cost about $55 with tip for the cab ride. If you are staying in St. Martin, this is the dive shop / boat to use.
Blue Island Divers - St. Thomas
Did three dives with these guys. Loved everyone minute of it. First dive on a plane in about 100 ft of water. Good vis, maybe 90 feet and no current. Not many fish but still an experience. Second dive was on the Miss Opportunity. Large wreck dive. Went through inside of wreck. Loved it. Third dive was on reef, I think Flat Cay. Very nice reef. Lots of fish. Saw small nurse shark and turtles. Crew / dive master were great. Friendly people. This is the dive shop / boat I will pick when I go back. Great experience.
Turks and Caicos - Not sure about the name for these guys. This was a shore excursion from the cruise ship. The dive boat and crew where pretty good. No complainants. Very helpful with gear. Just didn't talk much. The dives where awesome. The coral was thick and colorful. Fish everywhere. Turtle and eels on this dive. The wall and coral were a great experience. I got a good look down the wall into the darkness. Did two dives and this may be the best reef I have ever seen and I have been all over the Caribbean. I can't wait to go back.
