I was thinking of a different ship.

Very similar.

The Republic
570' steamship.
Built 1903, sank 1909, found 1981.
It rests off Nantucket, in 240'.
Cargo supposedly including over 500 million dollars of US gold eagles.
I don't think the gold has been recovered.
