So has anyone been to Redondo yet to look for the squid massings? I've heard there've been some reported over the last couple of days, and chances are that by later this week they should be in full-scale frenzy.

There's squid alright. I dove there with a buddy of mine last Saturday. We didn't see the squid, though, only the eggs. We must've been too late. 
We're diving there again Wednesday night. Hopefully we'll see them.
