Hello

I remember a Dive show called Underwater Canada that my dad took me to located out by the airport is this show still alive and or are there other local dive shows that take place here in Ontario. In Jersey USA there is a show called Beneath The Seas is this worth the drive down.

I believe Underwater Canada folded a few years ago. Locally - one of the best shows would be the Niagara Shipwreck Festival. Hosted by the Niagara Divers in Welland - this year it is being held on March 13th. Very few booths to visit but it is designed around the speakers. Lots of amazing topics for all levels of diving. Website is: Shipwrecks/2010 Symposium.

It may be a haul for you to Columbus Ohio but the weekend before BTS there is Scubafest. It is great regional show. Lots of presentations and workshops (I have two there this myself on UW Nav and one on the Buddy System). It is a show for divers. Last year Bernie Chowdhury spoke and John Chatterton was there on Friday. Lots of Great Lakes dive info and one of your dive ops Helen Cooper has the booth next to ours ( SEI). Index Page is the website.

Great I will have to attend that show thanks CDNScubaMoose.

Come to see Scuba World at Outdoor Adventure Show. The show takes place in the International Centre on February 26th,27th and 28th. We have two for one tickets at Aquasub if you'd like to come. We are going to have show promotions with White's Manufacture for Fusion drysuits.

I have often wished there was SCUBA shows local to us. This show looks like it is more geared towards the travel aspect of SCUBA. Is this correct? The list of SCUBA World attendees seemed that way which holds less appeal for me than the equipment side. Does the show usually have a fair representation of equipment manufacturers?

The Outdoor Adventure Show is not geared to Scuba Travel, but rather an opportunity for people to learn more about Scuba Diving as a Sport. There will be a Demo Tank and vendors such as the OUC and some local dive clubs that will be available to learn more about the sport itself.

If you are looking for deals on gear though and would like an opportunity to meet a variety of LDS's....then you may want to consider a visit to the OUE Scuba Swap and Sale in April.

Registration for gear is on Friday April 16th, 2010 and then sale is on the Saturday April 17th.

We have amazing vendors and awesome deals to be had....of course...only the most SAVVY divers are in the "know" and get there early.

Thanks Leanne. I am familiar with the swap but would still love to have a show where manufacturers actually introduced new products and ideas as well as had people there to talk to (similar to DEMA but for non-professionals and local). The swap meet is great for used gear but there is nothing locally that fits what I would love to see. Too bad.

I am with you on this one Steve but reality is that most of the diving manufactures do not come to the shows anymore. I remember several years ago we had the show called "Underwater Canada". It was smaller version of DEMA and great opportunity for people from the diving industry to get together. At that time I had a dive shop in Newfoundland and it was fun to fly to Toronto for few days of diving show.

These days I carry good amount of stock in Aquasub inventory so my customer can have good knowleage and selection of diving products. This year we decided to go even bigger. We are closing old Aquasub location and opening new much bigger shop at the begining of March. We will be sending invitations for Grand Opening so it will be great opportunity for all of us to meet and get together.Let me know if you have any other suggestions.
By the way I love your pictures.
Cheers
Norbert
