I was asked to post a few images of whales. more images can be seen on the following link as well as a few in my scubaboard gallery. The baby in these images is 3 hours old.

I am assuming if you know the exact age of the baby, that you saw it being born? That would be neato... I've never pictures of a baby whale being born ('cept killer whales, which are really dolphins).

Could you post some pics of the birth, if you have any?

Chris- Very nice. I've never seen sperm whales anywhere near that close. Impressive.

Did do a dive last weekend at Church Rock off Catalina during which a juvenile gray whale hovered about 30-40 ft above me while I had my back to it filming lobster in a (legal) commercial lobster trap. I sensed something big, but didn't find out what it was until I surfaced. Wish I had pictures of that!
