I have a PADI dive log from when I started diving in 2002. Its a little three ring binder with my pages. This weekend I took a couple specialties and my log book doesn't have anywhere to log them. There is not even a mention about specialty courses anywhere in my book.

Obviously I was originally certified through PADI but my specialties were done at my local dive shop which is a SSI shop. They have their own pages at the back of the book for all the specialties where the instructor can sign off saying you passed. I could use those pages but then I'd have to buy a whole new dive log and considering I still have 50 logs left to fill in the padi one that seems silly. It also seems silly to buy the SSI logbook just for those 2 or 3 pages, besides they won't fit into my current logbook very well.

Does PADI have anything like this that I can buy separate? What else can I do?

Well, you can ask your instructor to sign the speciality on a regular page in your dive log. Get a stamp, maybe a sticker.
Also, you will get a card anyway, won't you?

If it really concerns you soo much, just make your own log pages and insert them where you want to. A simple three ring (or more rings) binder with some sheets in it is all you need. Just copy the information slots from the PADI log if that is all you need, or add your own lines for info you wnat to add to your dive histories.

He did sign my logbook page. We logged 4 dives that day and he signed each page. I suppose he could just put the SSI sticker on my logbook page for that dive, but I thought maybe there was something else out there.

I will get a card but not until I complete 4 specialties (unless I pay $25 per card)...not a big deal but I figured I'd ask.

I'm with Thorndowyn, just make a note on the dive log pages. The actual log pages aren't really applicable, since the cards are the real proof along with the records SSI keeps.

Agreed with above. Anyone can create a log book to say anything they want. It's the agency records that really matter.

I too started with OW PADI then switched to SSI. I just completed the Advanced OW course and see that they listed it all on my cert card (4 Specialities that we covered) so I just logged them as normal dives in my PADI Dive log cause thats all I really had to log it and I figure they are on my cert card if theres any questions. Oh and I took the Nitrox class too and got a seperate cert card for that
