Hello, new to board and would like some recommendations for a spearfishing charter in the big bend area of the gulf. I have never been spearfishing before, so anyone with recommendations for a course would be appreciated.

The best way to learn is to get in a water with someone who spears also. Pat Green on this message board would be the closest to that area and he is out of Panama City Beach. Pat runs Panama City Dive Charters and is an top notch spearo as well as boat charter captain. He will put you on If you are in that area and you want to learn from the best, he is your choice. Also just saw one new note that MBT dive shop in Pensacola is having a FREE spearfishing seminar. It's short notice being on Saturday Sept 25th, at 6pm, but I've been to that shop and they are excellent. If that location is closer to your home spot, I'd head over there.
