Referring back to the "SP-350 Buyers Remorse" thread:
Despite scrupulously cleaning the external socket area of my shutter release button on the PT-030 housing, I experienced an episode of "sticky trigger syndrome" last week in Bonaire.
Upon examining the trigger mechanism, I determined that the problem was not external contamination, but simply the need to lubricate the trigger shaft on the inside of the housing. I accomplished this using a toothpick and a dab of "O"ring grease. I depressed the trigger button, which exposed the interior section of the trigger button shaft, then applied grease to this area. It took care of the problem.
After reading LarryC's description of this issue I packed a small hemostat in my BC pocket so only one dive was partially affected.
Something else I routinely dive with are several 6 inch (15 cm) wire ties. I was able to save a dive for a friend when one of her fin clips went missing. Just tied the male strap clip onto the fin lug.
I actually repaired one of my own fins, underwater, when a fin clip popped apart as I tightened a strap.
