Right now Southwest Airlines is offering a $49 each way ticket to select cities if booked by July 27th. If you could fly anywhere in the US to dive, where would it be?

Put into consideration that it would need to be to/from a city that southwest flies to/from. You can see the cities they cover here:

I'm very interested in a $100 trip to anywhere in the US, so, please do tell the best areas to dive :) If you know of a charter in that area as well, please post that information as well.

Fly to Houston and take a trip out to the Flower Gardens or fly to Fort Lauderdale and go to Key Largo.

I would go to Seattle and get together with the Scubaboard members from the PNW or to California and hook up with the Scubaboarders from there.

I second the suggestion to go to Fort Lauderdale and drive down to Key Largo. Key Largo is about a 3 hour drive from Lauderdale. Talk to the dive operators in advance to get a variety of reefs and wrecks. Marathon Key is supposed to be good too, but I have not been there.

It's more like two hours, actually. I've done this a couple of times. I've also gotten cheap hotel rooms on Ft. Lauderdale's beach and dove from there. You don't even need a car to do that. Both are fun and easy.

So go to to key largo, it would be closer to go to FT lauderdale rather than Ft Myers?

yep

Ft lauderdale is the place to fly. Key Largo would be cool too. But another option is to dive in the Ft lauderdale area. Save rental and drive time. Check with some of they SB locals they are nice people and were very informative the last time that I went. Key Largo is still on my list.
